MVIWAARUSHA, TARI SELIAN, & WEEFFECT are impressed by the ongoing FORI project interventions
MVIWAARUSHA & TARI SELIAN on Wednesday 2nd and Thursday 3rd of May 2023 took through the WEEFFECT official for a visit of the Farmers led research trial plots at the districts of Arusha DC, Monduli, and Karatu to see the ongoing implementation of the FORI projects.
The visit was meant to monitor the status of the farmer’s researchers to whom the project is taken through. The farmers are managing the research trial plots which are now doing great after the commencement of the rainy season in the most part of the country, in particular districts in which the project is undertaken.
Among the visitors were Mr. Frank Ademba the country manager WEEFFECT-Tanzania, Joe Kataka the Program Development officer –in East Africa, Faith Mutuku the gender programs officer – of WEEFFECT East Africa, and the government agriculture officers from the respective areas of the project. The FORI project is up to ensure the revolutionary of the agroecology through sunflower value chain and legumes in the country while building small-scale farmers and strengthening the involvement of women and youth in the value chain.
