Lobbying and Advocacy

Lobbying and advocacy is a key thematic area of MVIWAARUSHA’s operations, focusing on creating an enabling policy, legal, and institutional environment that supports sustainable agriculture and agroecology. The organization actively engages government authorities, local government councils, policymakers, and other stakeholders to represent the voices and interests of smallholder farmers, pastoralists, and agroecology practitioners.

Through policy dialogue, evidence-based advocacy, awareness campaigns, and participation in multi-stakeholder platforms, MVIWAARUSHA promotes inclusive agricultural policies, equitable access to land and natural resources, farmer-friendly markets, and increased public investment in climate-resilient and agroecological farming systems. By building strategic alliances with civil society organizations, farmer networks, and researchers, MVIWAARUSHA strengthens collective action to ensure that agroecology is recognized, supported, and integrated into agricultural strategies and development programs.
