FORI Phase-Out Celebration Marks the Successful Completion of a Three-Year Project

The FORI Phase-Out Celebration was successfully held at the Christian Community Centre Hall in Arusha, bringing together key stakeholders to commemorate the achievements and impact of the FORI project over the past three years.

The event was attended by all 60 FORI farmer researchers from Arusha District Council, Monduli, and Karatu districts, whose dedication and active participation have been instrumental in the project’s success. The celebration provided an opportunity to reflect on the project’s achievements, share experiences, and recognize the contributions made by farmers and partners throughout the implementation period.

Implementing partners, including officials from TARI Selian and WE EFFECT, participated in the event alongside several international partners. Representatives from Iles de Paix and TRIAS joined the celebration, demonstrating their continued commitment to supporting sustainable agricultural development and farmer-led innovation in Tanzania.

Government representatives were also present, including agricultural officers from district and ward levels across Arusha DC, Monduli, and Karatu. Their participation highlighted the strong collaboration between government institutions and project stakeholders in promoting agricultural transformation and community development.

The ceremony was graced by the Regional Agricultural Officer, Ms. Rose Masawe, who represented the Regional Administrative Secretary. In her remarks, she commended the efforts of all stakeholders and acknowledged the significant contribution of the FORI project in strengthening agricultural productivity, farmer research, and knowledge-sharing among farming communities.

Over the course of three years, the FORI project has delivered meaningful results, empowering farmers through participatory research, capacity building, and the adoption of improved agricultural practices. The project’s achievements stand as a testament to the power of collaboration among farmers, government institutions, development partners, and research organizations.

Special appreciation is extended to the European Union for generously funding this successful project. We also sincerely thank our international partners, AgriCord and ACP, whose support and collaboration played a vital role in ensuring the successful implementation and impact of FORI.

As the project concludes, its legacy will continue through the knowledge, skills, and innovations gained by farmers and stakeholders, contributing to sustainable agricultural development and improved livelihoods across the Arusha region.
